The AVG Video Font Disk
There are 19 typefaces on this disk, several in varying sizes, and they
have been seperated into two drawers for programs that do not handle
long font lists well. These fonts were chosen from a wide range
of Amiga Public Domain Fonts for their suitability for transfer to video.
I chose fonts larger than 20 pixels in height so that they will be more
visible, and avoided line widths smaller than two pixels so that they will
not shimmer or have detail lost when translated to NTSC.
By clicking on either the Set1 or Set2 icons, that set of fonts will be
assigned as the default system fonts.
USING WITH DELUXE PAINT II
Keep the VideoFonts2 disk in one drive, and DeluxePaint in the other. To
change fonts, go to the DPaint Screen Format Requester and click ok without
changing anything. This resets the font file directory. Use the Left Amiga
and N keys to switch back to the Workbench screen (you must have an open
window on the Workbench or this will not work), and click on either Set1
or Set2. Return to DeluxePaint using either the depth gadgets
or Left Amiga + m. If you load the font directory, you will now have a new
set of fonts. This makes changing font directories very simple.
USING WITH DELUXE PAINT THREE
The fonts can be found in drawers Set1Fonts and Set2Fonts, or you can
assign them with the set1 and set2 icons as described above.
To see the complete set of fonts, use the ShowFont utility. There is also a
Showfont2 on this disk and is described in the Showfont documentation. It
allows you to view fonts in hi-res, but will only run from the cli.
To restore the fonts back to the system fonts, double click on the Restore
System Fonts icon. If your system fonts are on Workbench (rather than in
Ram or on a hard disk), you will have to put the Workbench disk back in the
drive if you have removed it.
NOTE TO HARD DRIVE USERS
The icons can not be dragged over to a hard disk as they run script files.
You will need to copy the set1 and set2 icons and scripts along with the
Set1fonts and Set2Fonts drawers. You will also need to edit both the script
files and the icon info files to remove VideoFonts2 pathnames.
